ARTS & CULTURE

Broaden your horizons with a visit to some of Montreal's landmarks like the Olympic Park, featuring the Montreal Botanical Garden, Biodome and Insectarium.

For art connoisseurs, the place to see is the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts and Musée d’art contemporain showcasing beautiful exhibits by artists from all over the globe. The McCord Museum of Canadian History and the Canadian Centre for Architecture are also recommended.

The Place des Arts cultural complex, home of the Montreal Opera, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and the Grands Ballets Canadiens is among the many concert venues throughout the city. While you’re in town, why not catch a show at the Metropolis, Théâtre Saint-Denis, or even at the Bell Centre; you never know who will be playing…

Summer is a very festive time of the year for Montreal, when the Cirque du Soleil sets up its tent in the Old Port. Or, you can enjoy a happy hour outside, as the downtown and Quartier Latin terraces come alive. There's nothing like eating fresh lobster on the terrace of one of Old Montreal’s finest restaurants before taking in a breathtaking Cirque du Soleil performance.

The city also becomes Festival Central in the summer months, featuring the Fireworks Festival, the International Jazz and Just for Laughs Festivals, as well as the Francofolies. Montreal welcomes several film festivals too throughout the summer and fall seasons, such as the Montreal World Film Festival, the Fantasia Festival and the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma.

These festivals are mostly held in the downtown area, only a 20-minute walk from POINT3.

Montreal is prodigious in its cultural offerings whether museums or sports. From A to Z, the possibilities are endless.
